ShePVD is a free community event created by Dennise M. Kowalczyk and Alyssa Goldstein that highlights woman-identifying performers in a variety of artistic and performance disciplines, including music, dance, theater, comedy, and spoken word.

The long-term goal of this project is to build and sustain an annual woman-centered festival for the Rhode Island community. Our aim is to raise awareness of gender equality by showcasing the vibrancy and diversity of women's creative endeavors in Rhode Island.

ShePVD aims to provide a platform for women-identifying performers to share their talents with the community while being compensated for their work.  We aim to showcase the breadth and depth of women's artistic vision in Rhode Island.

After much consideration, we have decided to not host ShePVD in 2026. We do this with heavy hearts. We made the decision based on several factors: difficulty with finding a venue and the economic realities of grant funding and sponsorship during these challenging times. We know that nonprofits are trying their best to navigate the uncertainty of funding challenges and we don't want to add to that in any way.  Our hope is to return in 2027 and in the meantime, if you have the means, please go out and support the talented artists in our state by attending shows.  We hope to see you out there!
